Diamond Bracelets from Tiffany

Tiffany diamond bracelets get their name from their distinctive colour and cut. The yellow colour is caused by nitrogen being combined with the diamond crystals during the formation process. This causes a surplus electron in the bonding which absorbs blue light and gives off the yellow colour.

The original Tiffany Diamond is the most famous yellow diamond which originally weighed 287.42 carats and was found in the De Beers Mine in Kimberley, South Africa, in 1878. It was subsequently purchased by Charles Lewis Tiffany, a jeweller from Fifth Avenue in New York, and after who the diamond is now named. He started the company in 1884, and they are particularly well known for their promotion of diamonds initially to satisfy the American bourgeoisie’s luxurious tastes and subsequently for the revolutionary cutting and setting methods they introduced into the diamond market.

Charles Tiffany took the diamond to Paris to have it cut by Dr George Kunz, his company’s most distinguished gemmologist. The result was an exquisite cushion-shaped brilliant with 90 facets which then weighed in at a staggering 128.51 carats making the Tiffany Yellow one of the largest cut diamonds in existence. If you are lucky enough to visit the store in New York you will see the diamond is still on display there.

Because of their history and romantic association with the famous film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” which starred Audrey Hepburn, Tiffany diamonds are very special. So although at Diamond Bracelets we cannot offer you actual Tiffany diamond bracelets, we can offer our own exquisite diamond bracelets. These feature well cut diamonds in beautiful settings which really do dazzle and reflect the light, and all for a fraction of the price.
